Description:In the foreground are algae covered eroded boulders whilst further away, the chalk cliffs of Hunstanton can be seen. The top half of the cliffs is white as might be expected, however, the lower half is conspicuously red due to the presence of hematite (an iron compound). Both sets of rock contain fossils which may occasionally be found washed out in the pebble debris on the beach. |
