Description:The identification is tentative but this in itself marks out the hazard of wrongly identifying what you have picked. On the one hand this mushroom might be Amanita solitaria which is edible - or it could be the Destroyer which is definitely not! There is no known antidote to the effects of the amatoxins of these mushrooms. Symptoms start with stomach upset several hours after consumption, with stomach cramps and diarhoea for a day or more. Then you appear to recover but in reality, your kidneys and liver have been irreparably damaged and a few days later death results. |
